Let’s face it. Discoverability is a problem when it comes to most modern mobile App Stores. Sure, a game’s page may have a tag, or icon, to indicate a mobile game has controller support but it’s not a guarantee. Apple came in with Apple Arcade and, for the most part, most games have controller support but you can’t just scan through all of the game’s screenshots to find one you’d want to play.
One of the things I promised to do with the Best Smartphone Games blog is to help people discover new and interesting games. Or to make their life easier. After a lot of hours of manually scouring the web and the App Store I made a list of all the Apple Arcade Games with Controller support. And the type of game, its genre, and multiplayer support. And rating. And a screenshot of the game.
You can sort the list bellow based on the Name, Genre, Rating and Multiplayer capability. Scroll through the list and look at a screenshot that grabs your attention and find your next favorite Apple Arcade Game.
And we have a few more helpful and useful features and articles on our Resources Page!
List of Apple Arcade Games With Controller Support
⚠️ If the table below does not load for you you can access my google sheets spreadsheets with all the data. LINK TO SPREADSHEET
Most of the lists of Controller Supported Apple Arcade games on the internet feature just links to the game so I really hope that the effort I put into this one will be of use to you. Now, Apple Arcade get’s updated pretty often so new games might appear that aren’t on that list. If that is the case, do let me know and I’ll update it as often as I can. The same goes for games that get removed from the Arcade.
My Setup For Playing Apple Arcade Games
Most of the iOS games that I play for fun nowadays are Apple Arcade Games. They feel so close to a full console-like experience that I’ve made several dedicated setups just so I can game on my iPad using a controller (and sometimes even via Universal Control using my Mac’s mouse and keyboard).

There’s no denying it, Apple Arcade is a godsend for people who use the iPad as their main computer, or as their gaming setup.
I’m constantly in awe of the quality of games that get released (and sometimes re-released) on apple arcade and it gives me a ton of hope for the future of the platform. And I’m saying this as both a player and a mobile game developer.
